Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our core platform team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust backend services that power our critical financial products. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, high-performance APIs, and a passion for building reliable software in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable, reliable, and secure microservices using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions for new features and system enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for improved efficiency and responsiveness.
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and system stability.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems and troubleshoot issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on building scalable systems.
- Proven experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality code.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in Java or Kotlin, with extensive experience using Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience with GraphQL is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with message brokers and event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Proficient with cloud services, particularly AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) and TDD methodologies.
- Knowledge of distributed system concepts, concurrency, and fault tolerance.
