As a Data Engineer, you'll be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our data analytics and machine learning initiatives. You'll work on developing robust ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data quality, and optimizing data warehouses for performance. This role requires a strong understanding of data modeling, distributed computing, and the ability to work with large, complex datasets. You'll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using Python and Apache Spark.
- Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS S3, Redshift, Snowflake).
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across all data platforms.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and provide efficient data access solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data processing jobs for performance and cost efficiency.
- Implement data governance and security best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and schema design.
- Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks.
- Excellent SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in Python for data manipulation and scripting.
- Strong experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data services (AWS S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, or similar on Azure/GCP).
- Proficient in SQL and experience with database systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Snowflake.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions).
- Knowledge of data governance, data security, and data privacy principles (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
