Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying robust and scalable backend services. You will work on complex distributed systems, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure the reliability and performance of our core platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of microservices architecture, cloud technologies, and best practices in software engineering. You will be instrumental in evolving our platform to meet future demands and scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend services using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural designs for new features and system enhancements, ensuring alignment with long-term strategic goals.
- Ensure the quality, security, and performance of applications through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to engineering best practices.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical production systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on building scalable systems and APIs.
- Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and RESTful API design principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Required Technical Skills
- **Languages:** Java (Spring Boot), Go, or Python (Django/Flask).
- **Databases:** Strong proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
- **Cloud Platforms:** Extensive experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- **Messaging Queues:** Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or cloud-native messaging services (SQS/SNS).
- **Containerization:** Docker, Kubernetes.
- **Tools:** Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
