Job Description
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our core data platform team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines and data infrastructure. This role involves working with large datasets, ensuring data quality, and supporting the needs of our data scientists and machine learning engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and real-time data processing.
- Build and maintain scalable data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.
- Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to understand their data needs and provide appropriate data solutions.
- Implement data governance policies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Monitor data pipelines for performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize data processing jobs.
- Evaluate and integrate new data tools and technologies to improve our data infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and database design.
- Experience working with large-scale distributed data systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex data challenges.
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in Python for data manipulation and scripting.
- Strong experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Flink.
- Proficient in SQL and experience with various relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Redshift).
- Hands-on experience with cloud data services, particularly AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Athena).
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Prefect.
- Familiarity with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
- Knowledge of data governance, data security, and data privacy best practices.
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
